Thank you to all who have prayed for those in the path of Superstorm Sandy. Shingles and siding flew around our neighborhood, but no one was hurt and the damage was slight. We praise the Lord and are so thankful that we were only without power for about 24 hours. We didn’t lose any of our frozen food, and our damage (a corner of our roof, and the cover on our motorhome) is basically just an inconvenience and minimal cost. Dear friends of ours, however, are in an area that probably will not get power back for 7-14 days.
The photos of the beaches we were on last Friday are shocking. From what we can tell, the sand piles they built up didn’t help much.

We are thankful for our safety and protection, but we are close enough to feel the seriousness of the situation, and seeing places you have walked destroyed is shocking. Knowing that God is in control over all aspects of life, and works everything to the good of those who love Him, is such a blessing and strength in our life! We don’t understand His ways, but we trust Him, and we continue to pray for all those affected and ask that you pray with us.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
